I was sitting in my kitchen one night when I get a message from @crispychrissy with the following prompt. I thought she should write it, she thought I should write it. I guess I lost. Or won…? Anyway, this is the product of that conversation.

“You live in a world where your soulmate is unable to hurt you, intentionally or otherwise. You are fighting in a war, when one of the enemy’s knives harmlessly glances off of you.”

Beta’d by my beautiful @pinknerdpanda and I don’t know what I would do without you! “I would love to see a part 2 because I’m a greedy bitch. I love the two distinct voices between demon Dean and human Dean. They were both so perfectly Dean but yet so unique. That in and of itself is impressive. You captured Sam so well too….his desperation and determination. Great job.”

“Y/N, I need your help. You know I wouldn’t call if it wasn’t important,” Sam sighed deeply on the other end.

You had known Sam Winchester for years. You met him on a case when his brother, Dean, was in Hell for making a deal to save Sam’s life. It was stupid, you know, but you also knew as a hunter, that you would give up almost anything to save your family. You didn’t have that choice, not anymore. But that didn’t mean you couldn’t help Sam. You didn’t know Dean from Adam, but Sam was your friend.

“I know, Sam. What do you need from me?” you asked. You lay on the bed in your motel room. You were in Sioux City, Iowa, having just wrapped your own case. The room was hot, the air sticky and still in the late summer heat.

“Dean’s a demon, Y/N,” Sam choked out. You bolted upright in bed so fast, you almost fell to the floor.

“What?!” you shouted into the phone, louder than necessary, based the neighbors pounding on your wall.
